I reflashed my ZCF1100 using a CF to PCMCIA adaptor and it runs WPA
without needing special scripting; I did have to kill the orinoco
driver (removing entirely from system) so as not to clash with hostap.
you can make ifup kick off wpa by putting in these lines
wireless_mode managed
wireless_essid XXXXXX
wpa-conf /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
wpa-driver hostap
