Another guess:

It takes a long time to mount the NAND:

[chroot] r...@c7x0:~$ time  mount -t jffs2 /dev/mtdblock2 /mnt/internal
real    0m 16.04s
user    0m 0.02s
sys    0m 15.93s
[chroot] r...@c7x0:~$

Is there a timeout for mounting the partitions in kexecboot?

regards

Bernd

In the small ext2 partition I placed the image.nfo, kernel-cmdline and
zImage files in the /boot directory.

the kernel-cmdline points to the NAND.

here is the kernel-cmdline I used to start the cacko 1.23 on the
internal NAND

console=ttyS0 root=/dev/mtdblock2
mtdparts=sharpsl-nand:71...@0k(smf),327...@7168k(root),-(home)
jffs2_orphaned_inodes=delete EQUIPMENT=0 LOGOLANG=1 DEFYEAR=2006 LOGO=1
LAUNCH=q
Thanks .. but that does not work with the new kexecboot --- looks like
it also ignores the kernel-cmdline file

kernel-cmdline should works as before.
Try to delete zImage from /boot and copy one from your distribution again.

Is your mtdblock2 device appears in kexecboot menu?
