That's how it works.

The compound paradigms are called from the __case paradigms, which in
turn are called by most of the inflection paradigms.

You need to edit the modes.xml file. I've added a couple for you:

You'll also want to add some transfer rules to deal with compound words
(e.g. to remove the space)
