Well could you first explain more about PMC election and their activities.
The functions of the PMC are described here:

For activities, I found proposals on the wiki and votes of several
people who are generally active on this list.
Is PMC work restricted to that, and if not what more work have PMC
people to do ?
The current work of the PMC is light, that's right. One of the things we
do is approve proposals like the ones you have seen in
http://wiki.apertium.org/wiki/PMC_proposals
According to the 3 deputies, that seems to look-like what we call in
French "suppléant".
Why choosing suppléant first ?
These are not PMC deputies, but Election Board deputies (article 23. a).
We need them as backups to run the election.
And about PMC candidates, is there a restricted number for the chosen
persons (how many in this case) or do candidates only need a majority
of aprovals by others ?
Again, the bylaws are clear: art 16 says "The Project Management
Committee is formed by seven members of the Assembly designated by it to
make the day to day decisions."
In past elections, people voted for 70%*7 = 5 members, to allow for
minority votes. The ones that got most votes, were elected.
