Hi Folks,

I just opened the apertium.org site using chromium-browser and I just
got a suggestion:

"This website would like to remind you: Your browser (Chrome 39) is out
of date. Update your browser for more security, comfort and the best
experience on this site."

First, I am not using Chrome 39 but Chromium 39.0.2171.65 Ubuntu 14.04
(64-bit).

Second, an official Apertium website should never, ever suggest the use
of proprietary software such as Chrome. This is absolutely contrary to
the rationale behind Apertium.

Third, what's wrong with using such an "old" browser? We should
support all browsers, with appropriate fallback to whatever works well
in older browsers. Not everyone in the world has an updated computer —
many of them because they simply cannot update them because of old
hardware.

Fourth, are we sure that all we have inside apertium.org is
free/open-source software? That's a very strange suggestion to make for
free/open-source software.

Cheers

Mikel
