I agree with Francis, if you write completly a language pair, the most simple
will be to use as much as possible the same tages in both languages.

But sometimes (like in apertium-eo-fr pair wich is released in fr -> eo
direction but eo -> fr had to be done), it is better not to change a lot
dictionaries and to do that in transfer rules.

You have an example of tranfer rule for that in the wiki :

You need to write something like :

<when>
  <test>
    <equal>
      <clip pos="2" side="sl" part="temps"/>
      <lit-tag v="pres"/>
    </equal>
  </test>
  <let>
    <clip pos="2" side="tl" part="temps"/>
    <lit-tag v="pri"/>
  </let>
</when>

Note: "temps" is the French word for "tense" in English.

If finally you choose to avoid this kind of change for verbs, you may have
to write something similar in other occasions.
