I agree about the colour dots - nice idea, but in practice, not as meaningful as I would have liked. How about a compromise - how about instead of confusing dots or ugly words - icons? Just little simple icons - similar to the ones in eWallet, or in the old Palm version of Pocket Informant.
Just a thought.
