Hello
In our conditions such conditions (temps x duration) would only suggest to me
the probability of frost rings (russet rings at the stem surroundings).... you
keep the fruit load more or less and you have a big job to do to carefully hand
thin.

We are facing cool temperatures too here, fruits are about 20mm now, and we
spent 4 days with temps between 2 and 6 degrees Celsius (35 to 43 F) this is
new for us. I suppose this will drive to a huge natural drop ?

Best regards

Objet : Apple-Crop: Experience with cold temps post bloom

Hi,
Had cold temps ranging from 27.5 to 29 in low spots in our orchard this
morning. We are a week to 10 days past PF, and fruit size is on ave 8-12 mm.
Does anyone have previous experience with cold temps at this stage that they
could share? Thoughts on approach to thinning, what fruit damage to expect,
etc. I think we were at these temps for just an hour or two.
Thanks,
John Lyman
