As I said in my original response, it depends on the spreadsheet
program you're using.
AW 6 spreadsheets work exactly the same as ClarisWorks:
1. Select the cells you want to format.
2. Select "Number..." [Options: General] from the "Format" menu (or
access the dialogue box with "Command + Shift + N")
3. Put a Check in the checkbox that says "Show Negatives in Parentheses".
I never went through AW5. I use only CW 4 and AW6; but it seems odd
that AW5 would have been different...
