Before wasting your money purchasing a scsi card and external hard drive you should check to see how much memory the Apple //Gs has. The ram card is the one on the right looking from the front with the cover off. The Apple //Gs ram card has 2 rows of soldered on ramchips with 2 rows of sockets for upgrading the memory. If all 4 rows are fulled that means you have 1.25 meg of ram. If the sockets are empty you should look for an Applied Engineering or similar Ram expansion card. The //Gs can be a very useful computer with an external Harddisk and System 6.01. I think that Apple killed off the //Gs in order to sell the LC series Macintosh's. My personal //gs has 4 meg of ram with the //gs 6.01 OS and it is a very usefull computer. There was a 3rd party SVGA monitor adapter made for the //Gs which allowed it to display 640*480 images on any VGA monitor. The //Gs is still being used over in France and it is a shame that Apple discontinued this computer
