I recently acquired an Apple IIc+.

Two things:

1) I have read various places that you can toggle the processor speed on the
IIc+ between the standard 4Mhz and 1Mhz. It is stated that there is a
switch of some sort "built into the case". There is no such switch!!
What's the deal? Did somebody just make it up? The only switches my IIc+
has are the keyboard switch and the power switch.

2) I understand that the Apple mice you can use with the Macintosh Plus
computers are supposed to work on Apple IIc+'s. I tried two *known-good*
mice (model number M0100) and neither of them work. I am trying to use
"apple ][ desktop". I do not have any other 8bit Apple ][ programs that use
a mouse to test with. With the mice plugged in, I then boot to the desktop.
Moving the mouse in *any* direction just makes the arrow cursor on the
screen move downward until it is out of sight. Yes, that's right, even if I
move the mouse up, right, or left the cursor still reacts by moving
downwards. Clicking the mouse button seems to produce the results it
should. Hooking both mice up to my Mac Plus immediately afterwards, and
they both work 100% fine. Is there something I need to set up for a mouse
to work with Apple ][ Desktop? Is there a step that I do not know about, or
do I in fact need a different kind of mouse?

Thanks,
  Nat
