Hello,
Once when I was at a garage sale I found a huge pile of DS/DD 5.25" floppies seeled in baggies... like maybe 200 of them.... unopened unused.... for $5... I havn't had a single problem with using them on my C64, Apple IIgs or 286.
However, I've also bought a few unused DS/DD 5.25" floppies at thrift stores....sometimes they work and sometimes I can't get them to make bootable floppies.... I recently threw out a box because I couldn't get my IIgs to make bootable disks with them.
Anyway I recently found a phone order floppy store that sells DS/DD 5.25" and DS/DD 3.5" floppies for a pretty good price so I haven't really been bothering to pick up old blank floppies at thifts or garage sales anymore. <http://www.floppydisks.com/> .... recently bought 200 new unformated DS/DD 3.5" floppies from them because I've never had much luck with old stock DS/DD 3.5" disks.
