My messages are HTML free. I know my mailer, and it doesn't do things like that. The mailer is mutt. For what it's worth, I've been logging into remote hosts to do my email for years. It's a nasty habit I picked up when an Apple IIe was my only means of accessing the internet. Odd thing is, I was happier with the internet when I could only access it via a text mode browser (and didn't have to use this frilly graphics nonsense).
