Not a plug, per se, but my ISP, Foxvalley.net offers dialups from around 500 different locations (ok, a good chunk of these are here in Chicago. :) ) and a lot of the locations offer dial-up shell access. They all used to, but the company FVI buys their remote service from replaced a few nodes with equipment that didn't handle shell. There's Apple II users online using FVI in Calif., New Jersey, Florida, Texas, Penn. and a few other places, as well as here in IL.
