Back in 2000 I picked up 6 complete GS systems (mostly ROM3 but 1
Woz ROM1) plus some other Apple II stuff for free from the wife
of an Apple II collector who had just died. He had collected
well over 250 systems, mostly Apple IIgs but plently of earlier
Apple II's, and printers, etc. She just wanted the stuff gone,
and anything left was thrown out-but almost all of it was taken
after a few days.

Most of the items apparently came from thift stores, and still
had stickers ranging in price from $15-$35.

So the husband thought they were worth something, but not his
wife.

Regarding rarety and price for Rom01 GS'es:

Last month, I picked up 9 (that's NINE) GS CPU's from ebay from a
single
vendor. These are all sans cards and pretty much everything but
the CPU
box itself.

I paid $3 (three dollars) each for 6 working units, and $1.50 for
three
units that were not working for whatever reason. And since the
seller
happened to be local, he even drove them by my place and dropped
them off.

Boy, was my wife happy...NOT.

Anyway, just a data point...
