Well, I didn't NEED a CFFA card to run my //e from, but I bought one--not
only to support Rich, but to just be able to show what I could do with
this "antique" computer. I didn't NEED Glenn's ethernet card, but I got
one--I connect happily to my ISP via dialup, but there's something fun
about using Contiki on the //e to hook the computer into our DSL hub.
A hobbyist will pay what he deems is a fair price for something that
allows them to expand their hobby. My roommate spent literally hours last
nite rebuilding his XP/Sony Vaio hard drive because of a malware problem
(yes, multiple firewalls, and virii protection--and it still got thru.) I
can bot up my //e and get online via pine, lynx or links in just a few
minutes. And my Powerbook is fast, plenty of pictures, and pretty
virii-proof too. :) )
Later.................Howard
