There is no Linux-Arachne as yet. Linux+DOSEMU might be a possibility...
Others on this list will know something of how well that works. Or you
coould use Lineo/DR-DOS.

Turn off virtual screens, get all the memory you can below 640k and use a
disk cache. Arachne help has some detailed information about customizing
for speed. The disk cache is one more reason to use DR-DOS
