Yes of course, I left a computer downloading at school over night since the
speed was ca 1.6K/sec and it would finish at 1 or 2 in the morning.

I don't know the specific answer to that, but you could use ftp.exe to
check if you always get the same IP or not. (download and install telnet.apm).

In the status bar download time for the latest file is shown until you move
the mouse.

That reminds me, I'm late for breakfast if I want to get that file from
school before someone else uses the computer ;)
