Well, not being a programmer, I wasn't judging that it would be
easy, only that it was desireable. How do the various other browsers
(not just Windows, either) handle that problem? Just speaking off
the top of my head it seems that the easiest solution would be to
check each graphic as they are downloaded and then simply rename
them appropriately with the correct filename extension when the are
put in the cache. Our browsers do, after all, rename them anyway so
that they can keep track of where they belong and to avoid duplicate
names. How much code would it take to identify graphic file types and
then report an "error" code that the calling program (core.exe?)
would use to rename them correctly, and of course, call the
appropriate conversion program? Just some thoughts.
