There's a note about this in 16bit.txt - and 16bit.apm is available for
16-bit computers. I also think it's mentioned in changes.txt that you
always should read.

Seriously most computers are 32-bit. From the 386 everything is 32-bit and
not that many older machines are used today (you had one on the attic
yourself).

Not so IMO - 32-bit machines are much more common than 16-bit machines. And
the 32-bit version is a lot faster. So would a complete 32-bit version of
Arachne be - I'm still hoping, SVGAlib exists for DOS as well (although
somewhat older last time I checked).
