>Don't most email clients convert an ordinary URL into a hypertext link?

Arachne includes an email client integrated with the Web browser, but I don't
think that can be said of email clients in general. There is something at
http://www.rahul.net/dkaufman supposed to convert URLs into hypertext links; I
downloaded it but didn't try it yet.

I've wondered which browsers can take an untagged URL, such as
http://www.wherever.com/some/path/somefile.html
from a text file and activate it. So far the only one I know with this ability
is Arachne, and the file name must have a proper extension for this to work:
.MES will work, but .TXT or won't.
