>I'm having another one of my "stupid" days. I don't understand what you are
asking. I use Netscape 2.02. It ALWAYS marks hypertext links as "active" by
underlining them. (optional, as is changing the color) It would be pretty
useless otherwise.
Also, locally, I use NS2.02 to surf my disk, just like you might with Arachne.
All directory and filenames are marked as active links and can be used as such.

If the filename is in a html formatted document (as my directory listing are)
then it will be marked as a link. Also in mail. But probably not if WITHIN
a .txt document.

I think it a contextual problem.
What's the question ??

Arachne will mark a URL as a link, such as http://www.whoever.com/somefile.html,
though this won't work if "http://" is omitted. It doesn't even have to be a
mail message or have mail/news headers. Just name the file to have .MES
extension. Can NS2.02 do this? Now how do I get NS2.02 or 4.04 to recognize an
email message that was downloaded in raw-data form by another program? Arachne
has no trouble in this regard.
