Don't bother.  :)

Adding *anything* from the line to earth will only make everything
a lot worse (and could even be dangerous). A *good quality* BPF
200Hz - 4KHz should not cause any degredation but it's unlikely to
improve matters noticeably, I'm afraid.

The modem-designers have already included everything practicable to
extract the best bandwidth from the line; changing the characteristics
of the line from normal will only put the modem at a further disadvantage.

The only way to be sure of improving your throughput on a noisy line
is to insist your Telco corrects the fault that is causing the noise.

(Or move house :)
