Ok. Not exactly Arachne, but more general DOS on the internet related
question. (Keep in mind that I dont really know this topic well, so this
be a dumb question.)

In general, the problem that i've seen is that many DOS programs
(usually on WATTCP) cannot have more then one connection each time.
(For example, you cant run both mICQ and DOS-Lynx at the same time,
even though mICQ can be loaded as TSR.)

While doing Netstat when I was on Windows 95, i've received the
following list:

Active Connections

Proto Local Address Foreign Address State
TCP exavier-g2:1026 dalnet.freei.net:6667 ESTABLISHED
TCP exavier-g2:1087 cr582205-a.crdva1.bc.wave.home.com:1709
ESTABLISHED

As it seems, Windows applications can maintain multiple connected at the
same time by using diffrent ports on the local address. For example,
my IRC client is using port 1026 on local to connected to 6667 on the
IRC server. While at that, I am using the very same program to transfer
a file via DCC (Direct Client to Client) protocol from someone else. The
DCC transfer is going out from port 1087, to that person's IRC client on
port 1709.

I sepose that this looks simple to me because I dont know alot in this
area.
But the question is this: Why cant DOS applications do the same thing?
Or can they do it, and this is simply not the problem?
If this is not the problem.. then what is it? :)
