It's probably just a matter of familiarity. There
are small differences between the DOS and Linux CLIs,
which can be disconcerting. For example, when I move
between DOS and Linux, I am constantly tripped up the
the \. I am now much more comfortable with the Linux /.
It is DOS which has the wrong "feel".

Don't forget filename completion. I use this a lot in
Linux and really miss it in DOS.

Computers are complex and it takes many months (years?) to
become proficient. It feels good to master the machine.
However, when you switch to a new OS, many of these skills
disappear, you are a newbie again. This is an uncomfortable
feeling, so people tend to stick with their old systems.
I was guilty of this. I stuck with my Commodore 64 for
three years past its use-by date. I should have switched
to IBM compatibles long before I did.

That's fine if you are happy being frozen in time. The
mainstream abandoned DOS long ago and the leading edge
is now with Linux.

Sorry, this is not going to happen. If you want these
features, you need to switch to an OS that was designed
this way from the bottem up.
Cheers,
