For just a moment free your mind. Do you realy think we
will see a DOS like thing in the future? See the powerfull
hardware today (my P60 is a realy oldtimer(with that bug :)
There are no drivers or progs (only Arachne :)) with DOS for
a future when the comp. stands in a corner, may be your children
do not know where, but one plays a game and the other is doing
her homework with frinds from other countrys. In the same moment
you are surfing the net with Arachne post a mail or talking face
to face to that idiot on the Arachnelist and in a small window
runs the fast little DOS-prog. you talking about. And in the same
moment your wife sends you a note to come to 80s-Bar because
you stupid thing do nothing than hanging around the network (I say
not comp.!). The list could be much longer TV, music, working..
multimedia ;).
I know that is M$-talking, but I think the future should
be free and open so I gave Linux a try.
But there is a place for DOS -like in my arcademaschine with an
emulator for all that great games from the past (but it is linked
to the net via Arachne :).
