Try fdisk /mbr . Some versions use fdisk /m instead. If it's a linux
boot floppy, start fdisk and press h. Not sure, but I think there's an
option for it. If you try dos/win fdisk and it doesn't work and you
don't have a linux boot floppy, search for and download "tomsrtbt".
It's much easier to set up fat partitions with a dos-ish fdisk, and less
likely that very serious errors will be made by the user.
Posix fdisk is more powerful and has a friendlier interface; but it's
more likely that the "one big mistake" can be made.
Don't drive ten-penny nails with a ratchet wrench.
Don't drive screws with a hammer.
