;Speaking of the UK Freeserve, I just now used Arachne to connect to
;http://polonez.freeserve.co.uk/ntreader and I downloaded a 324K file in
;about a minute and a half. A few minutes previous to my having performed
;a successful download with Arachne I had connected with the site using
;Nettamer. The download was coming thru the tubes at only 234CPS and the
;download aborted. Tried it several times and the same thing happened.
;With Lynx386 I apparently failed to connect and I got an error
;"HTTP 1.1 302 Found" and my application locked up solid. This happened
;twice. Both times I was able to exit only by "CTRL + C". No problem
;with Arachne. BTW, does anyone know what the aforementioned error message
;means?

I regularly get "HTTP 1.1 302 Found" with Lynx386, it's no error message.
Normally, the Web page follows. As for the application locking up solid, I get
problems with
http://iwin.nws.noaa.gov/iwin/textversion/main.html
and pages linked therefrom. Problem does not occur on every page, but usually
I don't get through a session successfully on this Web site. Arachne was
successful when I used Arachne on that site, a good time back, scrolling was
often clumsy, but Arachne never hung. This Web site seems to contain pitfalls
for DOS Internet applications, including the old-style DOSLYNX (delay at end of
download before displaying), htget (hung). No problem with OS/2 Lynx, and the
normally inept IBM Web Explorer for OS/2 looks like a champion on this site.
