OK, Glenn. Here it is. I hope somebody can figure out what is wrong.
BTW, I have just performed a new setup from scratch after deleting
everything except ARCHN170.EXE and my ARACHNE.KEY. I never had a problem
in getting my APMs to install and to work. The problem is that when I
click on the "List of installed packages" ikon I will always get an Arachne
Load Error if I am offline. When online the feature always behaves as it
should.
BTW, I inspect my ARACHNE.CFG from time to time and I frequently make
backup copies of this file. As others on the list have reported, I also
sometimes find smiley faces in my ARACHNE.CFG. The smiley faces do not
appear to have ever introduced any new problems insofar as the running of
my Arachne installation is concerned. The only problem with the smiley
faces is that they certainly have no business being there and they should
not be putting in their occasional appearances there.
