I get Arachne Load Error when trying to view a named .MES file, so index scheme
shouldn't be involved at all.  With older Arachnes, such as 1.47, 1.48 and
1.50b2, I was always able to view a .MES file.  Unfortunately I deleted all the
old Arachnes, so I don't have the old files to see the difference.  So I can't
see what's farkled.
