Ok, RTFM enabled me to setup Lsppp and get it working. It's not
quite as easy as 1, 2, 3. More like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7--as
there are seven switches required for my situation of having
the modem on Comm4, irq3.
Comm port number /n
Irq /i
Baud /B
Password /P
Username /U
Number to dial /d
DNS # /N
I might be able to eliminate specifying the irq, but it works
with it specified.
Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions. They were all helpful.
Please note that I don't have a modem initialization string
specified. The default is atz. So if your modem will dial with
just that, then you can leave it out.
Now that I have Lsppp working with Arachne ok, I want to figure out
how to use it as a general purpose packet driver so that I can try
out other DOS internet programs like Lynx, Pegasus Mail.
How can I set it up so that I can exit Arachne while staying connected
to the Internet and then load another program?
Thanks again to all who are helping.
