I think this is the reason you sometimes get red boxes instead of
images as the content type might be sent as .jpg when in fact it is
.gif. When the JPG2BMP conversion executes, of course, there is no
conversion 'cause it's not a JPG file so there is no BMP for Arachne
to display. Arachne has to be smart enough to differentiate these and
