Im my case all it took was adding \v1 to the end my init string.

at&fs7=90s11=50\v is my new init-string

Here's the extra line which now appears in ppp.log

CONNECT 115200/V34/LAPM/V42BIS/33600:TX/33600:RX

Note:
When using miniterm.exe to dial this will only be placed into ppp.log
if you have "UseTerminal No"

With "UseTerminal Yes" you will see it on the screen but it won't be
written into ppp.log
