Thanks for your comments. A curious development in regard to
my original comment: When the Arachne files are copied to a RAM
disk, Alt+E and MiniTerm function properly. Yet, the same files
run from the Arachne directory on hard disk do not.

Arachne works just fine for browsing the web when I call her
in CONNECTION: READY mode. I don't understand how a trashed .CFG
file contributes to being unable to shell to DOS or display
directories.

In trying to troubleshoot this problem, I REMed out
everything in the DOSSHELL.BAT except COMMAND and she still
wouldn't work.
