I see.. Anyway the important thing is not to use Outlook :).. Eudora is
pretty nice, but.. why don't you modify the emailing portion of Arachne,
if you can? :0 maybe it should make it better!!! :D
Byeeeeeeee!! Fede.

If you have DOS but no Windows, I don't think there is any Outlook or Eudora
that you can use. What version of DOS are you using with no more Windows?
Does anybody know what happens with Arachne Insight when an incoming message has
a line of 1024 or more characters? I sometimes get a message with one or more
lines having 1024 characters, but not more; once saw a spam message in a
newsgroup with one line > 1400 characters. Net Mail for DOS gets stuck on such
an email message, just appends spaces and newlines forever, until the user hits
Ctrl-C. OS/2 port of popclient would download up to and including the message
with the 1024-long line, then halt for segment violation, and that message would
remain on server despite having been downloaded successfully. Then I had to use
UKA_PPP aka NOS-BOX for rescue.

Well.. I want to thank you all for your disponibility for me, anyway I
have a great idea.. I'll download my copy of arachne tomorrow at school
:).. on fridays and on saturdays I have access to a PC at the library
adiacent to my high school :) I think I'll download the IRC estension
for arachne, too.

Downloading at school and carrying on 1.44 MB diskette sounds like the best
idea. I suppose the school would have a high-speed connection. Writing to or
reading from 1.44 MB diskette is much faster than 56K modem.

I wonder how could Microsoft detect that you were using an ilegal copy
of W95. This should send shivers ? through everybody using ilegal
copies of OS. Here in Brazil piracy is so widespread that I can find in
downtown Sao Paulo copies of W95, W98, WNT4, W2000, Wme, Wxp or whatever
for U$ 4.00 each CD.

I received a couple of email spams offering to sell CDs of Windows, clearly
pirate, but the price was much higher than $4.00 US. But Wxp wouldn't be ready
yet, is slated for release in time for 2001 pre-Christmas shopping season.
I read about an anti-piracy plan by MS to require registration that would allow
a Windows copy to run on only one computer. This was also for MS Office. Have
the pirates found a way around the copy protection?
