Hi Thomas -

Vedit is like EPM on steroids.  The executable is around 170k, and it uses a swap 
program under DOS.  You can do the normal kind of stuff like shelling out -- Vedit's 
macro language is a very extensible scripting language.  For example, the on line 
documentation is all written using the macro language.  You can find out more at their 
web site:  http://www.vedit.com, where I think there are trial versions available.
