I have a DOS machine doing the NAT, and have had no problems getting my
Internet access to work with Windows 9x, Windows 3.x, DOS (WATTCP) or Linux.
Are you sure you have specified all the settings in Arachne? The ones you
need are IP, DNS, gateway and netmask. I assume you have gateway correct,
but is the DNS correct?
The only other thing I can think of is the settings for WinGate (or WinGate
itself), but I find that very unlikely.
