I forwarded this info to the author of WP2HTML, who replied:
"wvWare used to be called WordView and was developed by a guy in Ireland
called Caolan McNamara. I actually wrote the code to decode OLE file
wrappers and donated it to his project a few years ago (you will still see
some stuff about this in the credits to wvWare). This was then made GNU
licence and I donated the OLE code to that.
When I first came across WordView it was BIG, needed lots of UNIX libraries
(Like zlib for compression, gd for the gifs etc, and was certainly not going
to run in 16 bit mode (the compiled UNIX executable was around 1.5 MBytes)
Have not followed progress into wvWare, but doubt it has got much smaller."
