>From watching the news on TV, in an apparent coordinated action, two hijacked
airliners, one American Airlines, the other United Airlines crashed into the
two World Trade Center towers about 15 minutes apart. Later, another plane
crashed into the Pentagon, reportedly in an non-critical, non-sensative
area. About an hour or so after the planes crashed into the World Trade
Center, both buildings (110 stories) collapsed. A fourth airliner has
reportedly crashed north of Pittsburg, PA, but there is no indication yet
whether that was also part of a coordinated attack. All airports are closed
with no planes departing. Overseas flights into the U.S. have been diverted
to Canada and it is now reported that Canada has also closed its airports to
departing traffic.
There is, of course, a heightened state of alert. Two aircraft carriers are
being positioned off the east coast of the U.S.
That is the status right now as I know it.
