from Ron Clarke: > My mail is running around 35 messages per day. Is that a big volume ?
Not really. Aromatherapy list has produced about 300 messages in the last 10 days. Last message I got from the OS/2 Warp list was 6 months ago. > Never managed to get Pine (DOS) to work. :( > And I have never had a shell account - they are not common in Oz. I think Pine (DOS) supports IMAP but not POP3? Most people would not be able to get that to work on a mail server that only supports POP3 and SMTP. Further, I think Pine (DOS) uses only the lower 640 KB RAM. > How much is a "big" volune ? 100 a day? I think some of the FreeBSD emailing lists are very busy, I never subscribed for fear of being swamped. I don't think Arachne/Insight is efficient at dealing with big volumes, don't think having lots of little files is efficient either: very inefficient on large DOS partitions.
