I have two Actiontec 33.6 modems that will work with Arachne and many
other DOS programs, but they won't work from a "DOS-box" and they
won't work in native DOS mode. In order to get them to work with
DOS I have to first start Windows and then click on
START > SHUT DOWN > RESTART IN MS-DOS MODE. These modems will work
in DOS only in a "restarted in MS-DOS mode". It is a great mystery
to me as to why they won't work in a Windows "DOS-box". Weird.
