Hi;

I'm getting too attached to Arachne.
I hardly use any other software these days, certainly not for web access
or email. The next most important package I have is Sidekick, which I
use as my text editor. Pretty primitive eh ?

You'd think with all the dependance I put on Arachne, I'd back up my
H.D. once in a while. But nooooo...

So, I'm using cast iron bullet proof A1.62 and going thru my mail see ?
I've downloaded from two sites and was culling duplicates and flipping
back with the "ESC" key - which is my back button and I guess I went too
far back cuz the damn thing tried to download mail again. I *HATE* that.

But my ESC key is my ESCAPE key see ?
So I hit it AGAIN to get out of the undesired download, and of course
it doesn't work. I hate it when that happens too. :(
It's just NOT possible for me to control my twitching finger bashing at
the ESC key and Arachne goes into this loop of (maybe) attempted download
followed by attempted download followed by ...

Nothing to do but push the BigRedButton.

A bootable partition requires a 55AA signature (or some such nonsense)

Yes.

do you want to make this drive bootable ?
Yes.
There are no partitions on this hard drive.
Do you want to search for DOS partitions ?
Yes.
A possible 103Mb DOS partition has been found. Do you want to .....

It's not unbelievable that I could crash Arachne with the ESC key,
and it's not THAT hard to believe that some part of what was going
on wiped my partition table.

What's unbelievable is that happened a few minutes ago and now this box
is working PERFECTLY with no cross-linked files and no re-install and no
lost data and only a single allocation unit misplaced in cache.idx.

And my D: partition and my E: partition all unbelieveably OK. <G>

Wow.
