Part of the problem is the way software has been sold. It should have been done more like gasoline, or as is being proposed, based on ongoing user fees, tolls. If Arachne, for instance, rather than depending on a one time charge for forever use, was setup for some small amount every year, then the pressure to constantly upgrade (and therefore modify for the sake of having new 'features' to sell it) would diminish. > - Back to using Arachne V1.62 .... which is no longer an option for me.
