Allright guys, I want to talk about something people really don't like
to discuss.. deprecating something from the next gnome builds and
other builds from here on out.

ESD, it's old. Unmaintained and other solutions are much better.

The ESD CVS module hasn't been touched for about two years and is
horridly broken in many ways. Yet every package that CAN use it in the
pacman repositories do.

Now I normally just rebuild the packages that need it and go about my
day but lately when building gnome packages I allways get a bail out
resulting in this..

libtool: link: cannot find the library `/usr/lib/libesd.la'

Which tells me some gnome package was compiled with esd seen but I
honestly don't know which.

While I COULD recompile every gnome package on my system I'd rather
not and I think this is something that should've been done a long time
ago.

I'd gladly help with this effort if it will be approved by the powers
that be. But seriously this is bound to happen sooner or later. Let's
just make it sooner.
