I am finding complete success with only the following in my .xinitrc. This is for scim-anthy, with Japanese. Thanks to Damir's hard work, my ArchLinux section on my Japanese page about installing is only a few lines--a quick pacman -Sy anthy scim scim-anthy and it Just Works(TM) (GREAT job Damir). export LC_CTYPE en_US.UTF-8 export XMODIFIERS="@im=SCIM" scim -d With just that, fluxbox and mlterm I can use Japanese in firefox, openoffice and an xterm--an mlterm. BTW, for those with an interest in mlterm, my buddy Josh has a nice little guide. http://qnd-guides.org/qnd-mlterm.html - -- Scott GPG KeyID EB3467D6 ( 1B848 077D 66F6 9DB0 FDC2 A409 FA54 D575 EB34 67D6) gpg --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys EB3467D6 Buffy: I didn't say that I'd never slay another vampire. It's not like I have all these fluffy bunny feelings for them, I'm just not gonna get way extracurricular with it. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2 (FreeBSD) iD8DBQFDrBFT+lTVdes0Z9YRAjCAAJ4vgbsUN1DEg463tWXOdSkkF+9FswCgw4B9 GJ5AjiJ84XcmUcZ+B2uogmI= =lpUF -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ arch mailing list [email protected] http://www.archlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/arch
