Hello all, I was wondering if anyone else was having problems with their digital camera and Digikam.
I saw on the forums that there was some issues people were having in relation to libgphoto2 and I was wondering what state that whole mess was in. I have a Sony Mavica MVC-CD300 that is fully supported by the gphoto project, however, I am unable to get Digikam to detect it and use it; even as root. It was working last time I pulled pictures off it about a month ago, but since some libgphoto updates, it stopped working. Also, on the Wiki site for the camera installation, it still says to use hotplug, however, when I try to install hotplug, it asks me if I want to replace udev because they conflict with eachother. Should I do that? Any advice about the camera? I tried to downgrade to the 2.1.6 version of libgphoto, and Digikam is able to detect the camera, but not access it at all. Doing a ls -lR /proc/bus/usb as the instructions point out show all devices owned by root and not one root:users. Thanks!!!
