Yes, I have this line in my rule file

Well, I tried to set the permissions manually using chmod, but it didn't work. 
I even tried to launch Diikam though sudo (Root access) and it still failed.

Interesting... I tried the 2.1.6 version also, and it allowed Digikam to see 
the camera, but because of permissions, was unable to open it.

Yeah, I took a look at their rules and they were more or less the same. I 
could not make out what any difference was...

Thanks for your input. I appreciate the assistance with this. I really miss 
using my camera on my machine. However, I am gaining muscle in my legs 
running up the stairs several times a day to get the pics to my other Linux 
box, so there is some good comming out of this :)
