My ultimate goal is to create a customized rescue CD based on Arch. I am
attempting to use archie-scripts to generate the CD. When I go to install
the archie-scripts package the install aborts because of conflicts (xinitrc
and packages.txt are in both archie-module-xfce and archie-scripts). I have
encountered this problem before but successfully skirted around it one way
or another. I have decided that it's time to deal with the issue. Google
pointed me to a suggestion to use the "force" option to pacman. I'm fairly
confident that that would work. However, I note that the pacman man page
really discourages the use of this option. So, my question is: What is
considered to be the "correct" procedure for dealing with this issue?
