I’m going to put myself out here a bit: I’m for 3. I think there should be a policy proposal put forward to eliminate the waitlist and reallocate the addresses going there to replenish other pools.
Is there community support for that? Maybe, maybe not. I don’t know definitively how I feel about doing it as I want to hear other feedback from people who know a lot more than me, and I’m very open to that input. But I think committing it to the proposal process and soliciting feedback via that path is the best course of action. Other than that, I’m for 2 as it at least gets closer to my understanding of what the waitlist was created for by cutting the wait time down dramatically. It's obvious to me that we don't have consensus for option 2. If we get a bright idea in option 3's space, it can supplant anything we do now with option 1.
