Those of you who know me will not be surprised when I mention that Pilcher's
Winter Solstice was one of these books for me. However, before that I did
have others....Anton Myer's Green Convertible was one such book --when I
read it I kept thinking about it. Another such book was The Source by James
Michener; the first three Harry Potter books really caught me up and left me
awed. The first book I can remember reading as a young adult--and one that
made me think-- was Oh The Brave Music by Rumer Godden . Before that was
The Secret Garden. Then there was Katherine by Anya Seton too--I see I am
going to have to give this some more thought ! :-)

Anne Rivers Siddons and Rosamunde Pilcher introduced me to books
